Offensive

The offensive team is trying to get passed the defensive team and score a touchdown, 6 points, or field goal, 3 points. The offensive team must cross 100 yards to get to the goal line. They have four plays or downs to get at least 10 yards without having to give the ball to the other team. Wherever the ball is when the offencive team knees touch the ground and they have been touched by a defensive player the play is over and the next play starts there. The quarterback has to either run the ball across or throw the ball to a teammate, once they pass the line of scrimmage, the point where the last play ended), they can no longer throw forward but they can still pass backwards. Before the play starts the defencive team must be behind the line of scrimmage and so must the offensive team. When the offensive team scores a touchdown they have another chance to get one or two points. The ball is placed at the defensive team's 2 yard line, the offensive team has two choices to run the ball into the goal again and gain two extra points or score a field goal , one point , which is when you kick the ball into the middle of the goal posts.
